Frequently asked questions
What is a forced action mixer?
A forced action mixer is the obvious choice when you need efficient, consistent, and reliable mixing on the construction site. Whether you’re working with concrete, mortar, resin or specialist materials, a forced action mixer ensures a significantly better result than traditional mixers.
What is the difference between a forced action mixer and a standard concrete mixer?
One of the main advantages of a forced action mixer is its efficient mixing technology. The powerful gear motor and advanced mixer head ensure that materials are mixed quickly and evenly. In fact, you can often halve the mixing time compared to a traditional drum mixer.
What size forced action mixer should I choose?
It depends on the job and the quantities you typically mix. For small and medium-sized jobs, the F80 and F120 are the obvious choices, whilst the F200 and F300 are designed for larger jobs requiring a higher mixing capacity. As a rule of thumb, you should choose a forced action mixer that matches the type of material, the volume of work and how often the machine will be used. Baron’s models range from the F80 with a 59-litre mixing capacity to the F300 with a 250-litre mixing capacity.
How many litres of concrete can it mix at a time?
It depends on the model.
- The F80 has a mixing capacity of 59 litres.
- The F120 has a mixing capacity of 88–90 litres, depending on the model (F or E series).
- The F200 has a mixing capacity of 160 litres.
- The F300 has a mixing capacity of 250 litres.
This makes it easy to choose a forced action mixer suitable for small, medium, and large jobs alike.
Can a forced action mixer be used for mortar, concrete, and resin?
Yes. A forced action mixer is suitable for many types of materials where you need a uniform, efficient mix. Baron's forced action mixers can be used for concrete, gravel concrete, resin/geotextile mixtures, tile adhesive, rendering mortar, etc. The powerful motor, rotating mixer head, and adjustable blades make the machine suitable for demanding mixing tasks where the material needs to be mixed thoroughly and homogeneously.
How do you clean a forced action mixer properly?
Clean the forced action mixer immediately after use, before the material has a chance to set. Our forced action mixers are designed with an outlet that is easy to clean. The removable and adjustable mixing arms and blades make cleaning and maintenance a breeze.
Can parts be replaced (e.g. mixer head and blades)?
Yes. Several wear parts can be replaced, ensuring that the forced action mixer can remain in service for many years. On the product pages, you can also find spare parts for each model, making it easy to maintain the mixer over time.
